Laser Engraving For Engineering
Cutting Technologies uses CO2 laser technology to engrave metals. This type of equipment either marks the metal directly or we apply a paste to the surface of the material which is then baked on using the laser. This makes our technique excellent for visual applications such as instrument panels and labels. However our technique is not the best if you want thousands of high tensile bolts marking with the batch number - for this you need a company using YaG laser technology.
Typical applications for engineering include:-
Stainless Steel Information Panels - This is a close-up of a large wiring diagram attached to power generation equipment. The detail achievable with laser engraving makes it an excellent process for applications such as this, and because the end result is very visible and long-lasting it can be used in many environments.
Control Panels - This is a laser cut and engraved instrument panel for a ship. Cutting Technologies can offer the full cutting and engraving service, so we're a one-stop shop for these types of product. We also do a lot of these in anodised aluminium, particularly bright colours for high-end electronics components.
Anodised Aluminium Panels - Used for everything from labels to instrumant panels, anodised aluminium is hard-wearing and corrosion resistant. This image shows the level of detail we can achieve. The effect is particularly good in colour anodised material.
Laminate Labels - We do lots of labels in multi-layered plastic laminate. There is a huge range of colour combinations to match just about any application, and the level of detail we can achieve is high. We can even apply a self-adhesive 3M backing to the labels, so you don't have to worry about how to apply them.
Remember, we also cut most materials, so for example if you want a complex shape cut and engraved in stainless steel we can do the whole job in-house - you don't have to source the cut shape from a company and then send it to us for engraving.
