Cutting Technologies Ltd uses various internet resources to assist our clients with their projects. We've listed some of the sites we use below. We'll add others as we go along. We've also included links to some sites we find interesting on a less cerebral level, but may be interesting if you've a few minutes to kill..

Laser Links

Ailu - The Association of Industrial Laser Users (AILU) is an independent non-profit making organisation run by and for the UK industrial laser community and dedicated to helping manufacturing industry to make the best use of laser technology. You'll get impartial advice on the use and application of lasers - this really is an excellent resource.

LIA - The Laser Institute of America (LIA) is the society for laser applications and safety based in the USA.

LZH - On June 20, 1986 the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH) was founded under the patronage of the German State Ministry of Trade, Industry, Technology, and Transportation in Lower Saxony. The institution’s legal form is that of a registered association. The association’s main task is to support applied research in laser technology on a non-profit basis.

Matweb - The heart of MatWeb is a searchable database of material data sheets, including property information on thermoplastic and thermoset polymers such as ABS, nylon, polycarbonate, polyester, polyethylene and polypropylene; metals such as aluminum, cobalt, copper, lead, magnesium, nickel, steel, superalloys, titanium and zinc alloys; ceramics; plus semiconductors, fibers, and other engineering materials.

Heavens-Above - If you're interested in satellites or astronomy, this is a really useful site. The aim is to provide you with all the information you need to observe satellites such as the International Space Station and the Space Shuttle, spectacular events such as the dazzlingly bright flares from Iridium satellites as well as a wealth of other spaceflight and astronomical information.

ROG - The Royal Observatory, Greenwich has a great site with content for all ages

Hubble - Home of the hubble telescope site. If only we could afford one of these in the back garden!

BAA - British Astronomical Association. The voice of amateur astronomy in the UK

London Eating Guide - For when we northern chaps venture south!

Fine Dining - Excellent site detailing some of the best UK restaurants

TripAdvisor - Check reviews of hotels world-wide before you book

Dictionary.com - On online dictionary, including a word of the day in various languages

IMDB - The Internet Movie Database. Excellent site with up-to-date listings of just about every movie ever made.

Wikipedia - What can we say? On on-line encyclopedia you can edit, that stays up-to-date, and is free. Now you know why the internet became popular!
