A Typical Laser Project

Original Artwork Each project starts with a design from our client. This can be in the form of a computer-generated drawing, a sketch, a pattern or even a photograph (the fountain shown below was programmed using water colour paintings - not easy!). This particular image was a scanned paper pattern.

Converted PatternOnce we receive the artwork we apply various magical potions to it to turn into something the laser can understand and cut. This is called a Vector file. Depending on the original image this can be very quick and easy, or a real challenge (that's a polite way of saying we sit here tearing our hair out as to why only half the image will convert!)

Hotel CeilingThe converted pattern is then used as the basis of the cutting plan for our lasers - we combine the pattern and expand to fill whatever panel size has been chosen by the client. At this stage we normally send the plan to the client for approval prior to cutting.

Laser Panel CuttingOnce approved it's time to do the cutting. This is 12mm MDF, but the same pattern could be cut in plywood, steel, stainless steel or even brass. The laser is a 3kw machine - the equivalent of a 3 bar electric fire, but we focus that power to achieve the cut.

Finished PanelAnd here's the finished panel - laser cut 12mm MDF, modelled by the lovely Sarah - I hope she doesn't see this! Remember, we can cut any size from very small to 3000x1500mm in one panel, and can extend the pattern over many panels to create a ceiling, a wall, or even a floor.

Acrylic Laser Cut PanelHere's the same panel laser cut in Clear Acrylic - aren't we talented?! We could also cut this in Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Brass, Natural Wood and Ply.
