With the Tour De Yorkshire recently finishing and cycling fever hitting our part of the world again, we felt it only right we looked back on the project we did for the Grande Depart in 2014.

More than 2.5million people lined the route around Yorkshire over the two days for the Grand Depart almost three years ago.

From yellow sheep to road art, Yorkshire really did have it all. Our gold laser cut lettering helped to turn Langsett Le Hub into a Hollywood-esque backdrop.

We teamed up with the organisers of a three-day route-side festival to create an interactive map which tracked the progress of the peloton using our laser cut bike which advanced along the map as the cyclists did!

We laser cut the bike and all the letters for the names of the towns Stage 2 of the event passed through.

This is a fantastic example of large scale laser cutting for landscape art. The project itself was not only practical, but also eye-catching enough that cycle enthusiasts across the globe could appreciate!
