Our latest project was designed in London, for an Italian watch-maker, used at an event in Hong Kong and laser cut in Barnsley!

Officine Panerai, a top designer and manufacturer of luxury watches, commissioned internationally renowned London based designer, Moritz Waldemeyer to create dynamic light pieces for a recent event in Hong Kong.

Recognising the most important piece of a watch, Studio Waldemeyer focussed on the cog to create a series of centre pieces and feature curtains for the event.

The clear acrylic cogs were laser cut by us - ranging from 135mm to 335mm in diameter, our software made sure the material was used in the most efficient way.

Once laser cut, the cogs were fitted together to create a spherical globe centre piece.

A feature curtain was also produced for the event, using the cogs. Fitted in the centre of the hanging cogs sat a small circuit board that contains bright LEDs creating a luminous light play.

Both pieces were designed using parametric techniques. This particular design relies on sequence to design flat pieces onto dynamic sculptures. The addition of Moritz Waldemeyer’s signature LED lighting combines technology and art, creating something unique and very special.
