Working alongside one of our large structural steel customers, we came up with a solution to provide accurate assembly markers and instructions that allowed the Mild Steel components to go directly to site without having to stop-off at the workshop.
Using their 3D CAD system of the final assembly, 2D parts were then produced with correct profiles, construction lines, welding symbols and individual part section numbers. Each type of line had a colour code. Our CAM system then interpreted the colour code to choose the correct Laser Technology to either cut through, Symbol Engrave, Deep line engrave, or Spot Mark.
Over 5000 components were successfully manufactured/ prefabricated using this method and our Client after realising the cost benefits is pushing to develop this method on future projects.

Creative, sculptural work always gets us fired up and we’re glad we were able to play a part in commemorating Wrexham’s history with this particular project.
Laser cutting is perfect for intricate pieces. Not only is it capable of cutting a large quantity of identical items quickly, its precision allows for a perfect cut.
We’re big fans of promoting laser cut decorative panels here at Cut Tec, but we’re particularly happy when we can showcase our engineering talents and expertise into creative markets.
It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Martin Cook, a director and co founder at Cutting Technologies.
Laser cutting gives architects and designers’ creative ideas a whole new dimension – allowing them to create stunning decorative panels for balconies and balustrading.
The renovation of an old piano factory in London has been given a cutting-edge new look thanks to our lasers!
Laser cut panels for balustrading is perfect for livening up any space – it can be both practical and aesthetically pleasing. However, it needn’t be limited to the indoors.
When it comes to panels for balustrades and balconies, there’s no limit to the types of material you can use.
Working on an outdoor project? When it comes to the outdoors, each material can have a very different role to play and can react differently when exposed to the elements.
